Claire & Ioan

St Bega’s Church and Armathwaite Hall, May.

I met Claire & Ioan back in Feb 2013, they had planned their wedding at (in my opinion) one of the most dramatic yet quaint churches in the Lake District, St Bega’sChurch very low on the shore of Bassenthwaite Lake, to be followed by a reception at the superb Armathwaite Hall, both venues I know well and they make for both a spectacular setting for their celebrations and also for their images so I was doubly delighted when they asked me to photograph their day. Claire is a country girl at heart and even though they both now live and work in London it was important to them both to marry close to where Claire grew up. There wasn’t an over worked theme just country flowers and soft colours, Claire had a beautiful Sassi Holdford dress with a clever change of look for the evening and Ioan’s look was pretty sharp if I may say so. Just a quick nod to some of the suppliers who Claire & Ioan chose for their big day. Greenwheat Flowers, Cars of Distinction, James Hollinsworth of Digiscope did their video and Highly Strung from Carlisle provided the music! So if you are looking for a more than special location for your wedding this is perhaps a good one for you to take a peek at!
