An intimate lake District Elopement wedding at Storrs Hall Hotel,
Just a few from the day;
Imogen & James chose the fabulous location of Storrs Hall Hotel. A stunning Grade II listed Georgian Mansion that sits on the shoreline of lake Windermere overlooking the Lake District fells beyond. I have photographed many weddings at this beautiful spot over the last 15 years in my rather fortunate role as a Lake District wedding photographer. I was asked to provide coverage for this particular Lake District Elopement wedding for just three & a half hours. You will see from the images below I documented the boys in the bar having a pre-ceremony drink in the hotel bar to the final preparations of Imogen in the bridal suite with both her parents and rather gorgeous niece Amelia the flower girl, oh! and some rather special shoes! This small Lake District wedding was fortunate to all take place outside with drinks and nibbles all overlooking Lake Windermere followed by a little portrait shoot in the hotel grounds.
I am not one for hanging the dress dramatically off a chandelier or placing the shoes complete with rings on a wall top to get my material. If you have reached this far in my website you will possibly know now that my documentary style will concentrate on the reality in front of me, searching for beautiful light, intimate moments, expressions and lovely compositions, don’t get me wrong, I am happy to do a few family pictures and portraits, but images that evoke your memories and the sentiment of the day will always be the images that you treasure and go back to.
