Best of 2020
15 Small but perfectly formed weddings.
So 2020 what the flippin heck happened there… well I am delighted to tell you despite our friend Covid 19 and all that it could throw at us, the following happened… I photographed 15 small and perfectly formed weddings, some even before we even knew what a lock down was. When no mother of the bride had contemplated the idea of co-ordinating her mask to outfit and no bride had ever considered the notion of gifting personalised hand sanitisers as table decorations… Oh what we didn’t know back then…But what I did learn is that when two people want to get married (and they still can only just in some cases) amazing things can happen. I have to confess some of these smaller intimate weddings of just 30 or 15 or 6 or even 2 have been some of my most favourite in the fifteen years I have been a Lake District wedding photographer. There is something rather lovely about weddings where the guest list is the couples most inner circle.
All my 2020 weddings took place in Cumbria this year, as a Lake District wedding photographer, I expect the majority to be on my doorstep, I am very luck to live a stones throw from the National park.
Thank you most sincerely to my couples who braved the uncertainty and went ahead anyway, without you my little business may not still be afloat. Thank you though if you were there, if you booked me, worked with me, fed me, followed, liked or shared anything or wrote a lovely review. (so hugely helpful) Thank you to all the bridesmaids, best men and ushers who were amazingly helpful and the Mums Dads, families and best mates who find the time to make me feel so completely welcome when they are so understandably immersed elsewhere. Last but certainly not least a special note to the usher of all ushers who was at St Martins Church in Bowness on 21st Oct… Thank you !
